It's a
Place to Belong
Some days, it feels like you’re barely holding it together, trying to smile when all you really want is a moment to just stop. We’ve been there and that's why we created a studio where you can breathe again, switch off the noise, and let creativity gently calm the chaos.
Our twice-weekly sessions bring women together to create, chat, and laugh in a safe, caring environment that supports positive mental health.
At our wonderful art and craft studio, we’re all about supporting adults with learning disabilities in the most colourful, creative, and joy-filled way possible. A space where everyone’s unique spark shines bright. We’re not here to colour inside the lines, we’re here to rip up the rulebook, get a bit messy, and build confidence through creativity. It’s not just art, it’s friendship and everyone’s welcome.
Our community garden is a peaceful little paradise, filled with colourful flowers, homegrown produce, and the calming sounds of birdsong. We grow and sell fruit, veg, and herbs to fund new seeds, while teaching garden skills and sharing the joy of getting stuck in. It’s a space to relax, connect, and grow together.
Events
We love taking Art Craft & Laughter out into the community — and our human duck always steals the show!
Our outdoor events are all about fun, connection, and raising funds to support our mental health art and craft sessions.

We’re proud to have an inviting studio in St Budeaux, Plymouth, where everyone is welcome. Our sessions offer a safe, friendly environment where people can truly be themselves.
We help people understand that what they’re going through is okay — and that they’re not alone. By bringing people together, we create a supportive community where everyone looks out for one another through genuine peer support.
At Art Craft & Laughter, we connect like-minded people for person-centred, caring support. The act of creating in a fun and understanding space helps people relax, build confidence, and open up about their struggles if they wish to. The difference this makes to people’s lives is incredible.
Through a variety of creative activities, we see a wonderful range of benefits — from improved wellbeing and confidence to new friendships and a greater sense of belonging.
We know that coming to a new place can feel scary. We see the nerves and anxieties when people first arrive, but it’s amazing how quickly those worries melt away. Before long, people are relaxing, laughing, and genuinely enjoying themselves. Our sessions soon become something they look forward to every week.
"Just want to say thank you for having me in your group.
You will never know how much this group means to me. When I first arrived I was so nervous, but after being with the group for approximately 10 mins, I felt relaxed and really enjoyed myself. It was so good to be with others that are through similar traumas and to be able to feel comfortable to talk and share our experiences.
I really missed the craft sessions when lockdown started, but again you came up trumps and started the Zoom workshops. I looked forward to these sessions and the fun and laughter we always have together.
My anxiety levels have certainly dropped since joining the group.
Thank you so much."
